Global Good Online

Territory is a grounded lifestyle brand for the modern world — on a mission to transform our relationship to everyday, material goods. Guided by the principles of a caring economy, sustainability and cultural preservation, Territory works with a global network of artisan partners to design, create and curate a collection of fashion and home goods that truly bring the spiritual life home.

To support the design and launch of their first clothing line, we developed a new visual identity to better evoke the brand ethos and connect more clearly with their (primarily female) audience. Additionally, we provided support through art direction and photography.

Branding

The new brand included both an updated symbol and wordmark. Elegant simplicity was the driving force behind the design; adding just enough detail and curvature in the letterforms to convey an organic, almost antique quality…rendering a unique and ownable typographic style…as if scrawled with an inky quill in the corner of a journal long ago…

The icon depicts a simplified landscape, over which hovers a conceptual celestial body — a moon, a sun, or a planet. The three primary sectors of the logo represent the three pillars of Territory’s MIND–BODY–HOME merchandising philosophy. Taken altogether, the three visual elements can also be seen as a human figure, akin to the vitruvian man, or ancient venus sculpture — both references to classical art and culture.
